Learning journeys – sharing information about your child’s progress
We currently use an online program to capture children’s learning and development called Early Excellence. Each child has a ‘learning journey’; this includes observations, photographs and samples of work. You will be given a secure log in to access your child’s learning journey and see the wonderful things they are doing at Nursery. You can also add your own photographs, videos and observations to capture all areas of your child’s development over their time with us.
You will be invited to regular termly meetings with your Key Person to share information about your child’s learning and development. We will share learning targets and examples of how we have supported your child to develop their interests and ideas. We will also discuss any areas of the curriculum where your child has needed some additional support.
At the end of your child’s time with us, we will print out and give you a copy of your child’s special books. This will include special moments and examples of their learning and progress. We will encourage the children to look at these with us through the year and to add their own comments and reflections on what they have done and what they have learned. These will then be yours to keep forever.
