Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
Children may sometimes experience difficulties or delays in areas of their development, for example, speech and language, social, emotional, behavioural, cognitive and physical difficulties.
Many of these issues will be resolved by parents/carers and practitioners working together to devise appropriate early intervention strategies. We are also able to obtain support and advice from a range of professionals, for example, speech therapists, educational psychologists and occupational therapists. If your child has specific medical needs we will work together to ensure these needs are accommodated. Our staff are very experienced in working alongside children with special educational needs and disabilities to ensure they learn and develop at Triangle. We have many strategies and resources at hand to support the varying needs of our children; the sensory room, music therapy, Makaton trained staff and staff confident in using Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
You may also wish to contact your health visitor to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your child’s development or health. At local Children's Centres and Health Centres there are regular clinics led by the Health Visiting team.
Please also see information about our nurture space which has been developed to support children with complex additional learning needs. Click here (link to nurture space poster) for more information.
